Swimming
Krista Melvin, Sophomore (Abbotsford), of UW-La Crosse
Melvin won the 50 freestyle (24.97) in UW-La Crosse's 128-58 dual victory at
UW-River Falls on February 7. She then won the 200 freestyle (1:55.00) and earned
a NCAA "B" cut in the Eagles' 145.50-73.50 dual win over UW-Whitewater
on February 8. Melvin was also a member of UW-La Crosse's winning 400 medley
(4:07.69) and 400 freestyle (3:50.21) relays against UW-Whitewater.

Sarah Thayer, Freshman (Grafton/Cedarburg), of UW-La Crosse
Thayer won the one-meter (248.50) and three-meter (258.85) competitions in UW-La
Crosse's 145.50-73.50 dual victory over UW-Whitewater on February 8. She qualified
for the NCAA Division III Championships in both events.

Week of Jan. 27 - Feb. 2
Swimming
Elizabeth Miles, Sophomore (Minnetonka, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Miles won the 200-yard butterfly and the 1,000-meter freestyle in a dual meet
victory over UW-Stevens Point on January 31. She set a school record and earned
a NCAA Division III 'A' cut in winning the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.42. Miles
won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:51.58.

Sarah Thayer, Freshman (Grafton/Cedarburg), of UW-La Crosse
Thayer won the one-meter and three-meter competition in a dual meet victory
over UW-Stevens Point January 31. She set a school and pool record in winning
the one-meter competition with 286.35 points. Thayer qualified for the NCAA
Division III Championships with her one-meter score. She won the three-meter
event with 239.30 points.

Week of Jan. 20 - 26
Swimming
Elizabeth Miles, Sophomore (Minnetonka, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Miles won the 200-yard butterfly at the Get To The Point Invitational. She went
2:12.22 to win the event and earn a "B" cut for the NCAA Division
III Championships. Miles was also second in the 400-yard individual medley (4:46.35)
and 1,650-yard freestyle (18:06.07) to help lead UW-La Crosse to the team title
in the 11-team invitational.

Diving
Adria Bye, Junior (Appleton/West), of UW-Eau Claire
Bye finished first in three of the four competitions she competed in last week
and took second in her only non-first place finish. Against Macalester (Minn.),
she finished first in the one and three-meter diving events with scores of 230.75
and 234.20, respectively. She finished first in the three-meter event (234.20)
against UW-River Falls and second in the one-meter (215.20).

Swimming
Karrin Lick, Junior (Shakopee, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Lick won the 500-yard freestyle (5:19.92) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:55.78)
in UW-La Crosse's 164-79 dual win at UW-Oshkosh on January 18.

Diving
Rachel Heitkamp, Junior (Mequon), of UW-Oshkosh
Heitkamp dove to four victories on consecutive days in her own pool by winning
both the one and three-meter diving events against UW-La Crosse on January 18
and in the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on January 19. Against UW-La Crosse, she
won the one-meter diving with a score of 262.00 and the three-meter diving with
a mark of 292.00. In the UW-Oshkosh Invitational, Heitkamp outscored 10 other
contestants in the one-meter diving with a mark of 428.40 and nine other foes
in the three-meter diving with a figure of 469.50.

Week of Dec. 2 - 8
Swimming
Kelly Cole, Sophomore (West Bend/East), of UW-Oshkosh
Cole won two events and placed second in another to help UW-Oshkosh finish second
in a two-day invitational it hosted with WIAC foes UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls
and UW-Whitewater on Dec. 6-7. Cole swam to winning times of 2:04.58 in the
200 yard freestyle and 5:37.13 in the 500 yard freestyle, while finishing second
in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:19.84. The Titans finished second
in the meet with 599 points.

Carlene Empanger, Freshman (Chaska, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Empanger won the 200 freestyle (1:57.66) in UW-La Crosse's 160-74 victory over
Lawrence. She also earned a NCAA "B" cut with a time of 5:10.33 in
the 500-yard freestyle.

Sarah Thayer, Freshman (Grafton/Cedarburg), of UW-La Crosse
Thayer helped UW-La Crosse defeat Lawrence, 160-74, on Saturday. She won the
one-meter (265.10) and three-meter (213.55) competitions. Thayer qualified for
the NCAA Division III Championships with her score in the one-meter event.

Week of Nov. 4 - 10
Swimming
Megan Broskoff, Junior (Albert Lea, Minn.), of UW-River Falls
Broskoff won all three of her individual events against Macalester (Minn.) to
score 27 points for the Falcons. She won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time
of 1:09.66, finishing almost 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
In the 500-yard freestyle, she finished with a time of 5:46.48 and she won the
200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.50.

Swimming
Berit Fahrner, Junior (Minneapolis, Minn.), of UW-Stevens Point
Fahrner continued her solid start to the season by winning five events, including
three against UW-Eau Claire. She won the 500 freestyle in 5:26.39, the 1,000
freestyle in 11:08.48 and the 200 butterfly in 2:21.38 against the Blugolds.
She also won the 500 freestyle in 5:30.04 and the 400 individual medley in 4:59.94
against UW-Whitewater. The Pointers claimed victories in both dual meets.

Lashbrook won both diving events in a dual meet with UW-Stevens Point scoring
a 200.54 in the one-meter event and a 213.10 in the three-meter event.

Berit Fahrner, Junior (Minneapolis, Minn.), of UW-Stevens Point
Fahrner claimed three individual events in the Pointers 146-94 victory over
UW-Oshkosh. Fahrner hit the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:15.72),
the 200-yard butterfly (2:20.96) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:30.52). This
was the Pointers first conference dual meet of the season.

Diving
Rachel Heitkamp, Junior (Mequon/Homestead), of UW-Oshkosh
Heitkamp won the one and three-meter diving events in UW-Oshkosh's 146-94 dual
loss to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, October 26. She dove to first-place scores
of 278.60 in the one-meter diving and 277.60 in the three-meter diving.

Week of Oct. 14 - 20
Swimming
Kelly Cole, Sophomore (West Bend/East), of UW-Oshkosh
Cole had a pair of first-place finishes in a dual meet against UW-River Falls.
She won the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.83 and the 200 freestyle with a
time of 2:05.40. Cole was also a member of the second place 200 medley relay
team at the Midwest Coed Relays at Eau Claire.

Diving
Rachel Heitkamp, Junior (Mequon/Homestead), of UW-Oshkosh
Heitkamp eclipsed the provisional qualifying standard in the one-meter dive
against UW-River Falls. She scored 256.00 points to win the event against the
Falcons. UW-Oshkosh won the dual meet 145-72.
