Track
Jenna Mitchler, Junior (Kaukauna), of UW-Stevens Point
Mitchler scored an automatic qualifying performance at the Pointer Qualifier on February 26. She turned in a time of 2:14.50 to claim a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship. She also ran on the first place 4 x 400-meter relay team, which clocked a time of 4:02.32.

Danielle Rankin, Junior (Algoma), of UW-Oshkosh
Rankin recorded two of UW-Oshkosh's seven first-place finishes at the Pointer Qualifier on February 26. She paced the Titans at the unscored meet by winning the shot put with a toss of 43-5 3/4 and the 20-pound weight throw with a heave of 56-6 3/4. Both performances provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Week of Feb. 14 - 20
Track
Distance Medley Relay Team (Ashleigh Potuznik, Marie Burrows, Jenna Mitchler, Megan Craig) of UW-Stevens Point
The quartet ran the second fastest DMR in the country this season and the second fastest DMR in Pointer history. The team finished with a time of 11:59.57 at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational. The time was a high provisional qualifier and will likely qualify the team for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Marci Schachtner, Senior (Deer Park/Clear Lake), of UW-Stout
Schachtner shattered her own school record in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 59-2 3/4, beating her closest competitor by nearly 10 feet at the Blue Devil Open on February 18. The throw is currently the third-best toss in NCAA Division III and further than last year when she placed third at the NCAA Division III Championship.

Track
Megan Craig, Senior (Melrose/Bangor), of UW-Stevens Point
Craig likely earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship with a high provisional qualifying mark at the Eastbay/Pointer Invitational. She blistered the track in the 800-meter run, winning the event in 2:14.84. She also ran on the Pointers' 4x400-meter relay team which finished second in a time of 4:07.67.

Carrie Morschauser, Junior (Deerfield), of UW-Platteville
Morschauser won both the high jump and long jump at the Eastbay/Pointer Invitational on February 12. She raised her NCAA Division III provisional qualifying high jump mark to 5-5 1/4, which currently ranks fifth in the country. She also won the long jump with a leap of 16-7 1/4.

Marcia Taddy, Sophomore (Two Rivers), of UW-Platteville
Taddy set a school record in the 800-meter run at 2:14.09 to automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. She was eighth among all the predominately NCAA Division I athletes at the Husker Invitational on February 5 at the University of Nebraska. Her time is also the best in Division III this season.

Lindsay Tafs, Freshman (Hermantown, Minn.), of UW-Superior
Tafs recorded three first-place finishes at the Dairy Queen Blizzard Open on January 29 in Superior. She won the 60-meter dash with a school record time of 8.07 and also claimed the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.93. Tafs was also a member of the first place distance medley relay team.

Slabosheski reached the NCAA's provisional qualifying mark in the shot put in her first meet of the season. She threw the shot 13.11 meters (43-0 1/4) to win the event at the UW-Whitewater Invitational on January 29. She also placed 10th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.26 meters (40-2 3/4).

Marcia Taddy, Sophomore (Two Rivers), of UW-Platteville
Taddy won the 800-meter run in a school-record time of 2:16.07 at the UW Elite Invitational on January 22, beating seven NCAA Division I athletes. She bested the Badgers' Amanda Ganser, who finished second in 2:17.93. Taddy provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship with her performance.

Stephanie Barnes, Sophomore (Sauk City/Sauk Prairie), of UW-Eau Claire
Barnes set a school record in the pole vault at the Blugold Open on January 21. She cleared a height of 3.41 meters to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship. UW-Eau Claire won the six-team meet with 172 points.

Week of Jan. 10 - 16
Track
Jackie Mulrooney, Sophomore (Hartland/Arrowhead), of UW-Platteville
Mulrooney broke both the UW-Platteville and Williams Fieldhouse records in the 5,000-meter run, winning the race in 17:33.81. Her time was a NCAA Division III automatic qualifying mark.

Robyn Jarocki, Junior (Merrill), of UW-Oshkosh
Jarocki opened the 2005 indoor season with a pair of NCAA Division III-leading performances in UW-Oshkosh's 109-71 dual meet victory over Augustana (Ill.) on January 15. She helped the Titans to the victory by winning the shot put with a toss of 46-3 ¼ and the 20-pound weight throw with a heave of 63-11 ½. Jarocki's effort in the shot put qualified her for the NCAA Division III Championship.
