Singles
Ingrid Stensvaag, Sophomore (Palatine, Ill.), of UW-Whitewater
Competing at No. 1 singles, Stensvaag went 3-0 on the week with wins over Rachel Minerath of UW-Oshkosh (6-0, 6-0), Erin Henrich of Concordia University (Wis.) (7-5, 6-3) and Aschley Jurgella of UW-Green Bay (7-6 (3), 6-2).  Stensvaag improved to 10-6 on the year with the three victories as UW-Whitewater finished the fall season with a 6-0 record in WIAC dual meets.

Benn and Riordan won their No. 1 doubles match against UW-Oshkosh’s Jenna Abbott and Whitney Tornow (8-3) on Oct. 12.  The victory helped the Pointers to a 5-4 triumph over the Titans in the last dual meet of the season for both teams.

Hinman was 3-0 on the week at No. 1 singles, defeating Debbie Braun of UW-La Crosse, 6-0, 6-2, Rachel Minerath of UW-Oshkosh, 6-1, 6-2, and Katye O’Brien of St. Norbert College, 7-6 (7-1), 2-6, 10-7.  She improved her singles record to 10-5 on the year, all at No. 1.

Matsumoto improved to 11-0 on the season at No. 1 singles with three wins during the week, including two against WIAC competition.  She defeated UW-Stevens Point’s Rachel Benn, 6-2, 6-2, UW-Oshkosh’s Rachel Minerath, 6-1, 6-0, and Andrea Beegle of Bethel University (Minn.), 6-2, 6-1.

Week of Sept. 17 - 23

Amy Siemon, Freshman (Crystal Lake, Ill./South), of UW-Whitewater
Simeon went 6-0 at the Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) Fall Invitational during the weekend, winning three matches on Friday and three matches on Saturday.  In the first five matches she did not drop a set and only lost 14 games in the first five matches combined.  That set up a three-hour match in the final where she beat Katie Delagardelle of Coe College (Iowa), 7-6(4), 6-7(2), (10-4), in the match tie break.

Bohrman and Schoenwaelder won the consolation championship at the ITA Midwest Invitational. After an opening round loss, the duo came back to win four straight matches. They defeated Molly Eslick and Emily Heying of Wartburg College (Iowa), 8-4, in the consolation semifinals and Angie Horner and Stephanie Lee of Macalester College (Minn.), 8-2, in the consolation championship.

Matsumoto remained undefeated at No. 1 singles after earning three wins during the week.  She defeated opponents from University of St. Mary’s (Minn.) (6-1, 6-1), UW-Whitewater (6-2, 6-1) and NCAA Division I UW-Milwaukee (6-2, 6-1).  Kozue has not dropped a set in any of her matches this season and has compiled a 5-0 record.

Competing at No. 1 doubles, Riordan and Dahl went 3-0 during the week.  On Friday at UW-Stevens Point, they won 8-1, and in Saturday’s meet at UW-Oshkosh they claimed an 8-2 victory.  Later in the day on Saturday, they upended opponents from NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay by an 8-6 mark.

Dahl went 4-0 over the weekend and never lost a set.  At Edgewood College on Sept. 7, Dahl defeated Kelsey Steinhorst 6-2 and 7-5.  On Sept. 8 at the UW-Whitewater Invitational, Dahl defeated opponents from Augustana College (Ill.), UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater on her way to a first-place finish at No. 2 singles.

The tandem went 4-0 on the week at No. 1 doubles.  On Sept. 7, they earned a conference win with an 8-4 triumph over UW-Stout’s Allie Hinman/Jodie Czech.  At the UW-Whitewater Invitational on Sept. 8, they cruised to the No. 1 doubles crown without dropping a set.  They claimed wins over opponents from UW-Stevens Point, Augustana College (Ill.) and UW-Eau Claire.
