UW-Eau Claire To Host NCAA Women’s Softball Regional
Indianapolis, Ind.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been selected to serve as one of eight first-round hosts for the 2008 NCAA Division III Softball Championship, the NCAA Division III Softball Committee recently announced.
Seven teams will compete at five first-round sites, and eight teams will compete at three first-round sites. Selections for the teams competing in the first-round, along with pairings and where the teams will play, will be determined on Sunday, May 4 by the committee. All first-round sites will use a double-elimination format.
The seven-team first rounds will be held May 8-11, while the eight-team first rounds will take place May 8-12. The City of Salem, Virginia and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference is set to host the finals May 16-20 at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.
The eight first-round hosts and sites are:
Augustana College (Illinois) – Rock Island, Illinois
Ithaca College – Ithaca, New York
Methodist University – Fayetteville, North Carolina
Plattsburgh State University of New York – Plattsburgh, New York
Rhode Island College – Providence, Rhode Island
Rowan University – Glassboro, New Jersey
University of Texas at Tyler – Tyler, Texas
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Eau Claire, Wisconsin
