Schiesel helped the Blugolds clinch their third straight WIAC championship with a 6-0 victory over UW-River Falls on Oct. 27. She picked up her third and fourth goals of the season in the contest with the first at the 35:50 mark of the first half off a header from a corner kick to give UW-Eau Claire a 2-0 lead. About five minutes later, Schiesel tallied an unassisted goal.

Waterman helped lead the Pointer defense to their ninth shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory at UW-Stout on Oct. 27. The Pointer defense limited the Blue Devils to five shots in the win.

Ramsey Weyenberg, Junior (Appleton/East), Midfielder of UW-La Crosse
Weyenberg scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 20. The win clinched a winning season for the Eagles. Weyenberg scored at 25:06 to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage over the Titans. She then registered the match-winning goal less than a minute after UW-Oshkosh tied it at 1-1 in the second half.

Halverson stopped six shots in a 2-1 win at St. Mary’s University (Minn.) on Oct. 21 and seven shots in a 3-1 triumph over UW-River Falls on Oct. 17. The win over St. Mary’s halted the Cardinals’ 23-match non-conference winning streak.

In a 5-1 win over St. Norbert College on Oct. 14, Prawat scored her 14th and 15th goals of the season. Earlier in the week against UW-Superior, she had three goals and a pair of assists as the Pointers earned their seventh shutout of the year. UW-Stevens Point also defeated Edgewood College on Oct. 8 by a 1-0 margin.

Neve allowed one goal and made eight saves as UW-Oshkosh played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with two-time defending WIAC champion and nationally-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 13. Neve participated in all 110 minutes of the match. She stopped two UW-Eau Claire shots in the first period, five in the second and two in the first overtime session. The lone goal scored by the Blugolds came with just 3:53 left in regulation. UW-Eau Claire entered contest ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III by D3Kicks.com and eighth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Smith increased her goal total to eight on the season and assists total to seven in the Blugolds’ three victories during the week. In a 3-0 win at UW-Stout on Oct. 3, she assisted on the game’s second and third goals. In a 4-3 overtime victory at UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 6, Smith assisted on the match-winning goal with just under three minutes remaining in the first overtime. In a 3-0 win over Loras College (Iowa) on Oct. 7, Smith had a hand in each of the Blugolds’ goals. She scored the team’s first goal at the midway point in the first period and also registered the team’s third goal, while assisting on the second.

Bailey helped the Warhawks record a pair of 2-0 victories during the week. At UW-La Crosse on Oct. 6, she recorded eight saves en route to her eighth shutout of the season. It was the first victory for the Warhawks over the Eagles since Sept. 21, 2002. Earlier in the week, against Milwaukee School of Engineering she played the first half in goal.

Weise recorded a goal in each of the Pointers’ wins during the week to increase her season total to six. Against the University of Chicago (Ill.) on Sept. 25, she scored 8:13 into the match on a header off a pass from Katie Waterman and assisted Amanda Prawat for the game-winning goal as the Pointers snapped the Maroons’ 35-match home unbeaten streak with a 2-1 win. In a 1-0 win over UW-Platteville on Sept. 29, Weise scored unassisted with 7:09 remaining in the match from 15 yards out to help the Pointers improve to 3-0-0 in WIAC contests.

Christenbury helped the Blugolds to their highest scoring match this season with a 4-0 win over conference rival UW-La Crosse on Sept. 22 after recording one goal and one assist. In the third goal of the match, Christenbury had her first assist of the season, with Haelee Maurer scoring. Thirty minutes later, Christenbury would take a cross from Brittany Burant to score the fourth and final goal of the contest.

Vanden Heuvel was key player for the Pointers in their 1-0 shutouts of UW-La Crosse and Carroll College (Wis.) during the week. Vanden Heuvel, returning to the Pointers’ starting lineup after an injury, helped the squad record their third consecutive shutout and fifth of the season.

In two games this weekend, the Blugolds stayed unbeaten (5-0-1) with a tie and a win. In Saturday’s contest against the University of Chicago (Ill.), it only took Smith less than a minute into the second half to shoot one off the crossbar, which came directly back to a teammate for the game’s first goal. Unfortunately, Chicago tied the score with only 15 seconds remaining in the match and the Blugolds would have to settle for a 1-1 tie. In the second match of the weekend, Smith found the net for the Blugolds’ first score of the match against University of St. Olaf (Minn.) in a 2-0 triumph.

Trifone played 310 minutes in the net and allowed just two goals for UW-Platteville. She shut out Augustana College (Ill.) for 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie, then held University of Dubuque (Iowa) to one goal in 110 minutes the next night in a 1-1 draw. The Spartans had been averaging more than five goals per game, while starting the season 4-0. Trifone yielded one goal to UW-Stout off a corner kick in a 1-0 setback on Saturday.

Cory scored five goals in three road matches during the week. She had one goal in the Eagles’ 3-2 loss to University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Sept. 5. Cory then scored two goals each in a pair of UW-La Crosse wins as the Eagles defeated Cornell College (Iowa), 5-1, on Sept. 8 and Simpson College (Iowa), 2-1, on Sept. 9. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the victory at Simpson.

Cory scored both goals in UW-La Crosse’s 2-1 overtime victory over University of Minnesota-Morris in a season-opening contest on Sept. 2. She scored at 12:15 to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead and then scored the game-winning goal just 28 seconds into overtime as the Eagles earned the win.
