Pointers Win, Blugolds Fall In NCAA Women’s Soccer First Round Contests
Madison, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point won its first round contest in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament, while UW-Eau Claire came up short in its matchup on Nov. 10.
The Pointers claimed a 3-2 double overtime victory over College of St. Benedict (Minn.) in Chicago, Ill. to earn a second round matchup with the host institution University of Chicago (Ill.) on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m.
The Blugolds dropped a 2-1 decision to Wartburg College (Iowa) in a first round match in Eau Claire. UW-Eau Claire finished the 2007 campaign with a 18-2-2 record.
