UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point Receive NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament Bids

Madison, Wis.--For the second consecutive season, two teams from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will participate in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament.
UW-Eau Claire (18-1-2) received an automatic bid into the 60-team tournament field for the third consecutive season after winning the WIAC Tournament title. The Blugolds will host Wartburg College (Iowa) (16-3-1) in a first round contest on Nov. 9.
UW-Stevens Point (15-4-1) claimed one of 18 at-large spots in the tournament and will face College of St. Benedict (Minn.) (15-4-1) in a first round matchup at the University of Chicago (Ill.).
The Pointers will participate in NCAA action for the 12th time in program history and own a 10-11 all-time record in the tournament with a school-best third-place finish in 2000.
UW-Eau Claire and UW-Oshkosh participated in the national tournament a year ago, marking the first time in WIAC history two teams made the field.
