UW-Eau Claire Secures Third Straight Women’s Soccer Title
Eau Claire, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire secured its third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women’s soccer championship with a 6-0 victory over UW-River Falls at Bollinger Fields on Oct. 27.
The conference crown is the third in program history for the Blugolds, who were the preseason choice of the league’s sports information directors to win the title.
UW-Eau Claire also claimed the top seed for the WIAC Tournament that begins with quarterfinal matches on Oct. 30. The Blugolds are the two-time defending tournament champions and will host eight seed UW-Platteville.
Quarterfinal winners advance to the semifinals at the site of the highest remaining seed on Nov. 2. The championship match will be held on Nov. 3 with the winner receiving the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Divison III Tournament.
