Eight Secure NSCAA All-Central Region Accolades
Madison, Wis.--Eight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2007 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team.
UW-Eau Claire’s Anna Talbot (Sr., D) was a first team selection. The Blugolds’ Liz Kooistra (Jr., MF), Amy Smith (Jr., F) and Allie Rivard (Jr., GK), along with UW-Stevens Point’s Amanda Prawat (Jr., F) and Kaylee Weise (Jr., F) were second team choices. UW-Eau Claire’s Allison Smith (Jr., D) and UW-La Crosse’s Amy Cory (Sr., F) were third team honorees.
The Central Region includes players representing the WIAC, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Rivard was a first team choice a year ago, while Kooistra was a third team pick. Prawat claimed third team status the last two seasons.
Talbot is now eligible for the All-America Team.
