Capelle Named Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations at UW-Stevens Point
Stevens Point, Wis.--The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Athletics announced today the hiring of Mitch Capelle as Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. Capelle joins UW-Stevens Point after spending two years as the Sports Information Director at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H.

Capelle enters his ninth year in the sports information field, starting first as a student worker in the Sports Information Department at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wis. Next, he spent two years as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Lakeland College in Sheboygan before moving to New Hampshire.
Capelle, a native of Medford, Wis., takes over for Jim Strick, the 2007 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Rising Star College Division award-winner who last fall accepted a position at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
