Swimming
Matt Schuebel, Junior (Racine/Horlick), of UW-Eau Claire
Schuebel led the Blugolds to a dual meet victory over UW-Oshkosh as he took
home three first-place finishes and a second-place finish. He won the 50-yard
freestyle (22.95) and the 100-yard butterfly (55.92), while being a member of
the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:22.46). Schuebel was also a member
of the second-place 200-yard medley relay team (1:42.21).

Chris Hansman, Senior (Neenah), of UW-Oshkosh
Hansman took both diving events as UW-Oshkosh lost a 166-111 decision to UW-Eau
Claire on February 7. He claimed the one-meter diving with a score of 297.50
and the three-meter diving with a score of 276.55. Hansman already has qualified
for next month's NCAA Division III Championship.

Swimming
Steve Fisher, Junior (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View), of UW-Eau Claire
Fisher had a solid day as UW-Eau Claire topped UW-Whitewater and UW-River Falls
in a home meet. He earned four first-place finishes, including the 50-yard freestyle
in a time of 22.96 and the 100-yard freestyle in 50.20. Fisher was also a member
of the winning 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay teams.

Diving
Chad Pettis, Sophomore (Eau Claire/Memorial), of UW-Stevens Point
Pettis claimed both the one-meter and three-meter events in a 146-97 dual meet
victory over UW-La Crosse. It was the 42nd consecutive WIAC dual meet victory
for the Pointers. Pettis scored 269.75 points in the one-meter event and 289.95
points in the three-meter competition. His performance in the one-meter qualified
him for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Week of Jan. 19 - 25
Swimming
Alex Anderson, Sophomore (La Crosse/Central), of UW-Stevens Point
Anderson won two individual events and took part in four winning relays at the
Get to the Point Invitational in Stevens Point. He claimed the 200-yard breaststroke
with a time of 2:09.09 and then took the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.54. The
Pointers swept all four relay events on their way to the team title, with Anderson
swimming on each of them.

Adam VonFeldt, Sophomore (Lancaster), of UW-Eau Claire
VonFeldt helped the Blugolds to a 148-50 victory over Macalester (Minn.) on
January 23 as he took first in both diving events. He won the one-meter event
with a score of 184.90, while claiming the three-meter event with a score of
193.50.

Yusuke Iimori, Sophomore (Saga, Japan/Saga-West), of UW-Oshkosh
Iimori earned a NCAA Division III 'B' cut with a time of 58.00 in winning the
100-yard breaststroke in UW-Oshkosh's dual meet at UW-La Crosse on January 17.

Chris Hansman, Senior (Neenah), of UW-Oshkosh
Hansman won the one-meter (232.85) and three-meter (261.60) diving events in
UW-Oshkosh's dual meet at UW-La Crosse on January 17. He also captured the three-meter
crown at the UW-Oshkosh Diving Invitational on January 18.

Week of Dec. 1 - 7
Swimming
Brandon VanVleet, Senior (Grandy, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti), of UW-River Falls
VanVleet had outstanding efforts at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on December
5-6. He won the 50 freestyle in 21.12, the 100 freestyle in 47.44 and the 200
freestyle in 1:48.01. His time in the 50 freestyle established a school record
and was a NCAA Division III 'B' cut qualifying standard. VanVleet also swam
with the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first in 2:31.22, the 200 freestyle
relay team that placed second in 1:29.96, the 200 medley relay team that placed
second in 1:43.13 and the 800 freestyle relay team that placed second in 7:41.18.

Chris Hansman, Senior (Neenah), of UW-Oshkosh
Hansman won a pair of diving events at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational held December
5-6. He captured the one-meter title with a score of 478.45 and the three-meter
crown with a score of 469.90. UW-Oshkosh took the team title with 464 points,
edging second-place UW-Whitewater by one point (463).

Week of Nov. 10 - 16
Swimming
Alex Anderson, Sophomore (La Crosse/Central), of UW-Stevens Point
Anderson nearly matched his 50 freestyle performance from last year's NCAA Division
III Championship on Saturday against Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.). He clocked a
21.07, just shy of his 21.04 fourth-place performance at the 2003 national meet.
Anderson also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:09.45 and swam on both of the Pointers'
winning relays. UW-Stevens Point won the meet 165-131.

Justin Steele, Senior (Hastings, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Steele won the three-meter (168.95) and finished second in the one-meter event
(167.05) in UW-La Crosse's triangular victories over Augustana (Ill.) and Lawrence
on Saturday, November 15.

Swimming
Matt Grunwald, Sophomore (Madison/Memorial), of UW-Stevens Point
Grunwald recorded two individual first place finishes in UW-Stevens Point's
135-83 victory at NCAA Division II opponent St. Cloud State (Minn.). He won
the 200 butterfly and the 200 freestyle, while anchoring the winning 400 freestyle
relay team.

Diving
Chris Hansman, Senior (Neenah), of UW-Oshkosh
Hansman won a pair of diving events in UW-Oshkosh's 132.50-83.50 dual meet loss
to UW-Whitewater on November 8. He finished first in the one-meter diving with
a score of 265.55 and the three-meter diving with a score of 302.50, with both
efforts surpassing the qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III Championship.

Week of Oct. 27 - Nov. 2
Swimming
Matt Grunwald, Sophomore (Madison/Memorial), of UW-Stevens Point
Grunwald took home three first-place finishes in the Pointers' 190-44 dual meet
victory over UW-Eau Claire on October 31. He claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:46.89,
the 100 butterfly in 52.14 and the 500 freestyle in 5:01.18. The Pointers won
all 13 events in the meet.
