Ryan Kleimenhagen, Senior (Oak Creek), of UW-Platteville
Kleimenhagen placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run at the USA Indoor Track and
Field national championships on February 26 in Boston. He shattered the school
record by five seconds, finishing in 3:46.55 to place fourth out of 11 competitors
in the event.

Mitch Ellis, Sophomore (Three Lakes), of UW-Stevens Point
Ellis eclipsed the provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division III Championship
in the high jump. He won the event at the Pointer Qualifier by clearing 2.04
meters (6-8 1/4).

Track
Nate Olson, Junior (Stevens Point/SPASH), of UW-La Crosse
Olson won the 400-meter dash at the St. Olaf (Minn.) Tostrud Classic with a
NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time of 48.23. His time ranks second
in the nation this year. Olson was also a member of the winning 4 x 400-meter
relay team (3:17.60) that set a provisional qualifying mark.

Brandon Houle, Sophomore (Oshkosh/North), of UW-Oshkosh
Houle won the shot put and the 35-pound weight throw as UW-Oshkosh captured
its own 10-team invitational held February 19. He won the shot put with a toss
of 56-5 1/4 and the 35-pound weight throw with a school-record hurl of 60-4
1/2. It was the second straight week that he set a school record in the 35-pound
weight throw. Houle's performance in the shot put surpassed the automatic qualifying
standard for next month's NCAA Division III Championship. UW-Oshkosh captured
its own invitational with 242.50 points, while UW-Stevens Point finished second
with 154.

Tyler Sigl, Freshman (Seymour), of UW-Platteville
Sigl broke UW-Platteville's school record in the 5,000-meter run while competing
in a meet at Iowa State. He smashed Ryan Kleimenhagen's Pioneer record by 10
seconds. Sigl was 24th among 75 finishers in a time of 14:40.13, lowering his
provisional qualifying mark. It is the seventh-best mark in NCAA Division III
this season.

Becker won the weight throw at the Warhawk Classic with a NCAA Division III
provisional qualifying mark of 62-6. He helped lead the Eagles to the team title
at the six-team event.

Ryan Kleimenhagen, Senior (Oak Creek), of UW-Platteville
Kleimenhagen broke his own school record in the mile, while placing third in
the Husker Invitational at the University of Nebraska on February 5. His time
of 4:05.18 is easily the best in NCAA Division III this season.

Cassellius won the pole vault at the Warren Bowlus Open on February 5 with a
provisional qualifying height of 15-7, increasing his provisional qualifying
height from last week by three inches.

Marcus Walgrave, Sophomore (LuVerne, Minn.) of UW-La Crosse
Walgrave won the 55-meter dash (6.53) and 55-meter high hurdles (7.57) at the
UW-Stout Open on January 29. His time in the 55-meter high hurdles is a NCAA
Division III provisional qualifying time and the fastest in Division III this
year. Walgrave's time is also the third fastest on UW-La Crosse's all-time list.

John Schuna, Senior (Hudson), of UW-Eau Claire
Schuna grabbed first place in the shot put and second in the weight throw as
the Blugolds took second place out of nine teams at the UW-Whitewater Invitational
on January 29. He posted a throw of 17.58 meters (57-8 1/4) in the shot put
to automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships, while recording
a throw of 16.89 meters (55-5) in the weight throw to place second and provisionally
qualify for the championships.

Ryan Kleimenhagen, Senior (Oak Creek), of UW-Platteville
Kleimenhagen broke the UW-Platteville school record and automatically qualified
for the NCAA Division III Championship in the mile with a time of 4:05.85. Running
against all NCAA Division I performers at the UW Elite Invitational on January
22, Kleimenhagen finished second out of 20 runners, being edged by Badger All-American
Chris Solinsky by seven-tenths of a second. Kleimenhagen's time is almost nine
seconds better than any other Division III runner this year and beat the automatic
qualifying mark by more than four seconds.

Novak won the pole vault at the University of Minnesota Gold Country Classic
on January 22. He earned an automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Division
III Championship with a mark of 16-6.
