John Heitzman, Senior (Grand Rapids, Minn.), of UW-La Crosse
Heitzman won the individual title in UW-La Crosse’s dual meet victory at Luther College (Iowa) with a time of 21:22.

Brian Butzler, Junior (Beloit/Turner), of UW-Whitewater
Butzler won the Brooks Invitational in Winneconne on Oct. 13 with a time of 24:01.71 to outdistance a field of 358 competitors on the 8,000-meter course. His time was a team best this season and bettered the meet’s second-place finisher by nine seconds.

Jason Lindelof, Sophomore (Woodbury, Minn.), of UW-Superior
Lindelof placed second at University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Pine Hill Invitational on Oct. 6. He covered the 8,000-meter course in a seasonal-best time of 26:16 despite foggy and wet conditions. Lindelof’s performance helped the Yellowjackets to a second-place team finish.

Week of Sept. 24 - 30
Tyler Sigl, Senior (Seymour), of UW-Platteville
Sigl became the first runner ever to win three Roy Griak Invitational titles. He won the University of Minnesota meet by covering the 8-kilometer Les Bolstad Golf Course in 25:21 in the Men’s Maroon III Race. Sigl beat 366 participants and helped the Pioneers to a second-place finish among 34 teams.

Lindelof was the highest placing conference runner at the Blugold Open on Sept. 21 in Colfax with a fifth-place finish. He completed the 8,000-meter course in 26:27.

Tyler Sigl, Senior (Seymour), of UW-Platteville
Sigl was third overall and first among four-year collegiate runners at the St. Olaf (Minn.) Invitational, covering the 8,000-meter race in 25:43. He led the Pioneers to second place out of 27 teams on the course where the NCAA Division III championship will be held.
