Eight Teams Claim USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

USTFCCCAMadison, Wis.--Eight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) men’s and women’s cross country squads have been named to the 2007 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III All-Academic Team.

On the women’s team, UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout, UW-Superior and UW-Whitewater were recognized, while UW-La Crosse’s men’s squad was also acknowledged.

A total of 141 Division III women’s programs received the honor, while 99 men’s squads claimed the distinction.

In addition, 20 individuals (6 men, 14 women) from the WIAC secured individual accolades. 

UW-La Crosse’s Connor Lonning, Dan Thour and Dallas Vincent, UW-Platteville’s Tony Kilburg, UW-River Falls’ Chad Ernst and UW-Stout’s Nate Carey represented the men. 

Women’s members consisted of:  UW-Eau Claire’s Amber Hertz, Hannah Humbach and Beth Lutz, UW-La Crosse’s Zoe Browne, Kristen Howe and Katelyn Williams, UW-Oshkosh’s Ayla Mitchell, UW-Platteville’s Jessica Scott and Allison Tank, UW-Stevens Point’s Hannah Dieringer, UW-Stout’s Abbey Ring and UW-Whitewater’s Jackie Nett, Ashley Pick and Jennifer Rogers.

A total of 150 male and 203 female student-athletes received the honor.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at a NCAA regional meet.  The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.

For an individual to eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and finish in the top 25 percent of the field at a NCAA regional meet.
