Greg Haak, Junior (Belleville), of UW-Stevens Point
Haak posted a time of 26:27 over 8,000 meters to pull out a three-second victory at the UW-Oshkosh Open on Oct. 20 in Winneconne. His time was a personal best and 34 seconds faster than his mark on the same course just six days earlier.

Sigl, Junior (Seymour), of UW-Platteville
Sigl broke the all-time UW-Platteville cross country record when he completed
the 8K Jim Drews Invitational in 24:23 on Oct. 14 at Maple Grove Golf Course.
He placed fourth, and tops among all NCAA Division III runners, in a meet that
included 451 participants and Division I schools Wisconsin, Minnesota and others.

Simon, Junior (Milwaukee/Marquette), of UW-Oshkosh
Simon captured the individual title to lead UW-Oshkosh to a second-place finish
at the Ripon Invitational on Oct. 7. He took individual honors by completing
the 5,000-meter course in a time of 26:25 to outdistance the second-place finisher
by 16 seconds. A total of 74 runners finished the race.

Week of Sept. 25 - Oct. 1
Willy Kaul, Junior (Menomonee Falls),
of UW-Oshkosh
Kaul
captured the individual title to lead UW-Oshkosh to a second-place finish in
the Gold Division of the Notre Dame Invitational on September 29. He took individual
honors by completing the five-mile course in a time of 24:28. Kaul finished
third a year ago with a time of 24:44. He outdistanced the second-place performer
in the 2006 race by 15 seconds.

Sigl, Junior (Seymour), of UW-Platteville
Sigl won the 509-man Roy Griak Invitational held at the University of Minnesota's
Les Bolstad Golf Course. He crossed the finish line in 25:34, winning by 17
seconds. He successfully defended his individual title and helped the Pioneers
to a fifth-place finish out of 52 teams. Sigl is only the second person to ever
win the maroon race in back-to-back years.

Hayden finished fourth overall and helped lead UW-La Crosse to the team title
at the St. Olaf (Minn.) Invitational on September 16. He ran 26:22 in placing
fourth out of 152 runners.

Zdroik finished second overall at the 35th annual All-American Invitational
at Luther (Iowa) on September 9. He ran the four-mile course in 20:44 and helped
UW-La Crosse to the team title with 39 points. A total of 148 runners competed
in the meet.
