Sean Meehan, Senior (New Berlin/Franklin),
of UW-Oshkosh
Meehan finished first in a field of 29 runners at the non-scoring UW-Oshkosh
Open held October 21 in Winneconne. He completed the 8,000-meter course in a
time of 25:53, three seconds faster than teammate Andrew McGuire.

Tyler Sigl, Sophomore (Seymour), of
UW-Platteville
Sigl beat the top runners from UW-Madison, Minnesota and Iowa State among others
at the Jim Drews Invitational on October 15 in West Salem. He was second out
of 330 runners in a time of 24:25 over the 8,000-meter course. Sigl, who finished
only behind South Dakota State's Brad Lowery, nipped the Badgers' Christian
Wagner, Ben Wagner and Simon Bairu, who crossed in 24:26.

Gary Garcia, Senior (Kenosha/Tremper),
of UW-Whitewater
Garcia finished fourth out of 286 runners at the Border States Invitational
in Edwardsville, Ill. on October 8. His time of 25:29 over the eight kilometer
course was a season best for the defending conference champion.

Week of Sept. 26 - Oct. 2
Willy Kaul, Sophomore (Menomonee Falls/Milwaukee
Lutheran), of UW-Oshkosh
Kaul finished third to lead UW-Oshkosh to a sixth-place standing in the Gold
Division of the Notre Dame Invitational held September 30 in South Bend, Ind.
He was the top NCAA Division III finisher in the five-mile race, posting a time
of 24:44. Christiano Mauricio of the University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada)
won the race of 208 participants with a time of 24:21, while Tim Finnegan of
Calvin (Mich.) finished second in 24:44. Defending NCAA Division III champion
Calvin (Mich.) scored 45 points to win the 26-team event that featured several
NCAA Division I squads. UW-Oshkosh finished sixth with 163 points.

Week of Sept. 19 - 25
Tyler Sigl, Sophomore (Seymour), of
UW-Platteville
Sigl won the 411-man Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota
on September 24 at Les Bolstad Golf Course. He claimed the NCAA Division II
and III race, which featured 42 teams. Sigl covered the 8,000-meter course in
25:12, edging two runners from South Dakota for the title. His performance helped
the Pioneers place ninth overall and fifth among NCAA III teams.

Nate Hoffman, Senior (South Haven,
Minn./Annandale), of UW-La Crosse
Hoffman placed third at the Midwest Collegiate Championship, which was held
at UW-Parkside on September 17. He helped lead UW-La Crosse to a fourth-place
team finish with a time of 25:16 on the 8,000-meter course. Hoffman's time was
the fastest for a UW-La Crosse runner on that course since 1992.

Scott Schmick, Senior (Port Edwards),

Schmick led UW-La Crosse to a second-place finish at the Luther (Iowa) All-American
Invitational with a fifth-place overall finish. He ran the four-mile course
in 21:03.
