Ryan Chernik, Senior (Pewaukee), of UW-Stout
Chernik placed fourth out of 34 runners to lead UW-Stout at the Lake Wissota Invitational on October 22. He finished in a time of 16:07 over the five-kilometer course.

Week of Oct. 11 - 17
Mark LaLonde, Senior (Park Falls), of UW-Stevens Point
LaLonde won the UW-Oshkosh Hammer Strength Invitational held October 16 at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne. He covered the 8,000-meter course in 24:50, nipping Dan Bucy of Carleton (Minn.) by just over a second. LaLonde's performance lifted the Pointers to a fourth-place team finish.

Week of Oct. 4 - 10
Mike Wehrley, Senior (Verona), of UW-Oshkosh
Wehrley won his first collegiate race to lead UW-Oshkosh to the team title at the Carthage Invitational held October 9 in Kenosha. Wehrley completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 27:00. UW-Oshkosh took the team title with 22 points.

Week of Sept. 27 - Oct. 3
Mark LaLonde, Senior (Park Falls), of UW-Stevens Point
LaLonde placed second overall in the Gold Race at the Notre Dame (Ind.) Invitational on October 1. He covered the course in 24:41 and clocked the fastest time in the race among NCAA competitors. LaLonde's time helped the Pointers to an eighth place finish overall and third among NCAA Division III teams.

Week of Sept. 20 - 26
Gary Garcia, Junior (Kenosha/Tremper), of UW-Whitewater
Garcia finished sixth out of 362 runners with a time of 25:45 at the Roy Griak Invitational on September 25. He was the first WIAC runner to complete the 8,000-meter course in the Maroon II Race and was only beaten by one NCAA Division III runner, Josh Moen, who claimed the national title last season.

Week of Sept. 13 - 19
Phil Skiba, Senior (Wrightstown/Monroe), of UW-La Crosse
Skiba placed 11th overall with a time of 25:51 on the 8,000-meter course at the Midwest Collegiate Championship in Kenosha on September 18. He was the top NCAA Division III finisher at the meet and helped lead UW-La Crosse to a fourth-place finish.

Mike Herlihy, Junior (Racine/Horlick), of UW-La Crosse
Herlihy was UW-La Crosse's top runner at the Luther (Iowa) All-American Invitational finishing eighth overall with a time of 20:48 on the four-mile course. He helped lead the Eagles to a fourth-place team finish.
