Week of Feb. 12 - 18
Jason Price, Junior (Milwaukee/Washington), Guard of UW-Whitewater
Price helped UW-Whitewater to a pair of conference victories, including a win over No. 5-ranked UW-Oshkosh.  In the 88-71 triumph over the Titans on Feb. 14, he poured in a game-high 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field, including five-of-seven from three-point range and grabbed four rebounds.  In a 73-72 win over UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 17, Price had a team-best 22 points on seven-of-14 shooting from the field, including five-of-eight from three-point range.  In the two contests, he finished with 48 points on 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) shooting from the field, including 10-of-15 (66.7 percent) from three-point range and four-of-six from the free throw line.  He also grabbed six rebounds, dished out two assists and had one steal.

Week of Feb. 5 - 11
Pete Rortvedt, Sophomore (Minocqua/Lakeland), Guard of UW-Stevens Point
Rortvedt led the Pointers to conference wins over UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout as they clinched a share of their sixth conference title in the last eight seasons.  In a 83-80 win over the Warhawks on Feb. 7, Rortvedt poured in a career-high 35 points and had seven three-pointers, including three during a decisive 17-5 second half run.  On Feb. 10, in a 73-72 triumph over the Blue Devils, he had a game-high 27 points, including 11 in the last four minutes.  For the week, Rortvedt scored 62 points, shot 56.3 percent (18-of-32) from the floor, 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from the three-point line and 83.3 percent (15-of-18) from the free throw line.  He also totaled seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one blocked shot.

Week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 4
Joe Werner, Senior (Chippewa Falls/McDonell), Forward of UW-La Crosse
Playing against a pair of top-five nationally ranked opponents, Werner averaged 23.0 points and 10.5 rebounds, while shooting 15-of-22 (68.2 percent) from the field and 16-of-20 (80.0 percent) in the two games.    He had 20 points and 12 rebounds in a 73-62 victory at fifth-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 31, including 18 points and eight rebounds in the second half.  Werner then finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in a 68-65 loss to third-ranked UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 3.  Against the Pointers, he totaled 18 points in the second half and was 12-of-15 from the free-throw line in the game.

Week of Jan. 22 - 28
Kerry Gibson, Senior (Jefferson), Center of UW-Oshkosh
Gibson totaled 33 points, 16 blocked shots, 14 rebounds and nine assists as UW-Oshkosh posted WIAC wins of 72-55 at UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 24 and 90-67 over UW-River Falls on Jan. 27.  Against UW-Stevens Point, the top-ranked team in the NCAA Division III, Gibson scored a game-high 23 points on nine-of-13 shooting from the field and five-of-seven shooting from the free throw line.  He also grabbed eight rebounds, blocked five shots and dished off three assists.  Against UW-River Falls, Gibson scored 10 points and blocked 11 shots to tie his own WIAC single-game record, collected six rebounds and dished off six assists.  He has blocked 328 shots during his 100-game UW-Oshkosh career for the eighth-highest total in NCAA Division III history.

Week of Jan. 15 - 21
Pete Rortvedt, Sophomore (Minocqua/Lakeland), Guard of UW-Stevens Point
Rortvedt had two big games as the Pointers improved to 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the WIAC.   The 9-0 league mark matches the best start in school history (1932-33) and is the best beginning for a WIAC school since UW-Platteville started 11-0 during the 1998-99 campaign.  Rortvedt scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 73-68 win over UW-Platteville on Jan. 17.  His three-pointer with 11:52 left in the game broke a 44-44 tie and sparked a 12-2 Pointer run.  In a 106-61 triumph over UW-River Falls on Jan. 20, he had 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.  For the week, he shot 62.9 percent (17-of-27) from the field, 53.3 percent (eight-of-15) from the three-point line and 100.0 percent (five-of-five) from the free throw line.  Rortvedt also contributed 16 rebounds, three steals and two assists in the two contests.

Week of Jan. 8 - 14
Joe Werner, Senior (Chippewa Falls/McDonell), Forward of UW-La Crosse
Werner recorded two double-doubles during the week, averaging 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds, while shooting 50.0 percent (16-of-32) from the field as UW-La Crosse grabbed second place in the WIAC standings.  He had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 48-47 victory over No. 10-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 10 and then finished with a career-high 34 points, while also grabbing 12 rebounds in a 77-65 win at UW-Superior on Jan. 13.  Werner was 12-of-20 from the field and 10-of-10 from the free throw line in the victory over the Yellowjackets.

Week of Jan. 1 - 7
Jason Price, Junior (Milwaukee/Washington), Guard of UW-Whitewater
Price helped UW-Whitewater to a pair of conference victories, including an 81-61 triumph at UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 3 and a 91-86 overtime victory against UW-River Falls on Jan. 6.  Against the Blugolds, he totaled a game-high 20 points on seven-of-11 shooting from the field, including three-of-five from the three-point arch.   He was three-of-four from the free throw line and grabbed two rebounds with four steals and one assist.   Price tallied 17 points in the victory over the Falcons, including a pair of crucial three-pointers in the overtime period.  He was seven-of-15 from the field in the game and added two steals, one rebound and one blocked shot.

Week of Dec. 18 - 31
Jim Capelle, Senior (Wisconsin Dells), Forward of UW-Oshkosh
Capelle averaged 19.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest to help UW-Oshkosh win all five of its games from Dec. 18 - 31.  He compiled 99 points in the five games while shooting 54.2 percent (32-of-59) from the field, 55.6 percent (15-of-27) behind the three-point line and 83.3 percent (20-of-24) from the free-throw stripe.  He also totaled 16 assists and seven steals in the five games.  Capelle scored 14 or more points in all five contests, including a career-best 35 in the Titans’ 75-64 victory over Cardinal Stritch in the semifinals of the Clarke (Iowa) Holiday Tournament on Dec. 30.   He also counted 18 points in UW-Oshkosh’s 78-67 win over Mount Mercy (Iowa) in the championship game of the Clarke College Holiday Tournament on Dec. 31 and 16 points in the Titans’ 88-75 victory over ninth-ranked Lawrence on Dec. 18.  Capelle, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Clarke Holiday Tournament, ranks 10th in UW-Oshkosh history with 1,325 career points.

Week of Dec. 11 - 17
Steve Hicklin, Junior (Sussex/Hamilton), Guard of UW-Stevens Point
Hicklin led the Pointers to two non-conference victories during the week to improve to 9-0 on the season.  In a 69-47 win over Edgewood on Dec. 11, he scored a career-high 23 points.  He hit his first five field goal attempts, including four three-pointers to score 14 of the team’s first 24 points.  Hicklin recorded his second straight career high for the Pointers with 25 points on five-of-seven three-point shooting in a 75-49 win over Viterbo on Dec. 13.  For the week, he shot 73.9 percent (17-of-23 from the field), including 76.5 percent (13-of-17) from behind the three-point line.  Hicklin added six rebounds and five steals in the two games.

Week of Dec. 4 - 10
Bryan Beamish, Sophomore (Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln), Forward of UW-Stevens Point
Beamish buried a three-pointer as time expired to complete a late come-from-behind rally and lift UW-Stevens Point to a 75-73 win over No. 25-ranked UW-Whitewater on Dec. 6.  He scored 14 points in the contest on six-of-nine shooting from the field and two-of-two shooting from the three-point line.  In a 67-64 win over UW-La Crosse on Dec. 9, Beamish tallied 13 points and dished out three assists as the Pointers gained sole possession of first place in the league standings.  In the two game, he was 11-of-17 from the field (64.7 percent), including four-of-five (80.0 percent) from the three-point line.

Week of Nov. 27 - Dec. 3
Pete Rortvedt, Sophomore (Minocqua/Lakeland), Forward of UW-Stevens Point
Rortvedt led the Pointers to a 2-0 start in the WIAC with road wins at No. 19-ranked UW-Oshkosh and UW-River Falls.  In an 89-76 win over the Titans, he scored a team-high 21 points on seven-of-11 shooting from the field, including five-of-eight from behind the three-point line and two-of-two at the free throw line.  He also added two rebounds and one steal.  In an 81-73 triumph over the Falcons, he poured in a game-high 20 points and grabbed six rounds.  He was seven-of-14 from the field and contributed six rebounds and one steal.

Week of Nov. 20 - 26
Joe Werner, Senior (Chippewa Falls/McDonell), Forward of UW-La Crosse
Werner averaged 18.3 points and 9.7 rebounds, while shooting 80.8 percent (21-of-26) from the field as UW-La Crosse went 3-0 on the week.  He became the 13th player in school history to score 1,000 points in his career (1,022).  Werner had 16 points and seven rebounds vs. Viterbo on Nov. 21, 21 points and 12 rebounds against Lakeland on Nov. 24 and 18 points and 10 rebounds vs. Ripon on Nov. 25.  The back-to-back double-doubles give him 20 in his career.

Week of Nov. 13 - 19
Jon Krull, Senior (Marshall), Forward of UW-Stevens Point
Krull scored a career-high 32 points as UW-Stevens Point opened its season with a victory for the 11th straight year in posting a 93-75 win at No. 17-ranked Carroll College in a matchup of nationally ranked teams.  He was 12-for-19 from the floor and was a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line.   Krull also added seven rebounds in the contest.
