UW-Stevens Point’s Interbartolo Named Coach of the Year
Madison, Wis.--For the second consecutive year, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women’s golf head coach Matt Interbartolo has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) coach of the year, based on voting by the league coaches.
He becomes the third coach in WIAC history to win the award in back-to-back years, joining UW-Eau Claire’s John Rawdon (2002-03) and UW-Platteville’s Pete Reif (2001-02).
Interbartolo directed the Pointers to their first WIAC championship since the 1997 season. UW-Stevens Point also claimed the program’s first NCAA tournament team appearance with the victory.
The Pointers were the highest-finishing conference school in all six events they participated in during the fall, including four team titles.
