RELEASED: Monday, October 8, 2007 UW-Stevens Point’s Interbartolo Named Coach of the Year
He becomes the third coach in WIAC history to win the award in back-to-back years, joining UW-Eau Claire’s John Rawdon (2002-03) and UW-Platteville’s Pete Reif (2001-02). Interbartolo directed the Pointers to their first WIAC championship since the 1997 season. UW-Stevens Point also claimed the program’s first NCAA tournament team appearance with the victory. The Pointers were the highest-finishing conference school in all six events they participated in during the fall, including four team titles. # # # # # |

Madison, Wis.--For the second consecutive year, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women’s golf head coach Matt Interbartolo has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) coach of the year, based on voting by the league coaches.
