Athletes of the Week

Week of Sept. 23 - 29
Cheryl Treadwell, Freshman (Brookfield/Central), of UW-Oshkosh
Treadwell posted a pair of top-five finishes over the weekend. Competing in the Carthage Invitational on Friday, she carded an 18-hole score of 83 to finish fifth and help the Titans to the team title in the nine-team invitational. During the next two days in the Oshkosh Invitational at Whispering Springs Golf Course in Fond du Lac, Treadwell finished fourth overall. She shot an 84 on Saturday and an 80 on Sunday to help the Titans claim the team title in the 13-team event.

Week of Sept. 16 - 22
Carrie Detjen, Junior (Two Rivers), of UW-Oshkosh
In a 20-team event involving four WIAC schools, Detjen finished fifth individually to help UW-Oshkosh place fourth at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic held September 21-22 in Normal, Ill. She carded a 36-hole score of 154 strokes to finish three behind medalist Lindsay Amore of DePauw (Ind.). Detjen’s 76 strokes on the final day was the third-lowest 18-hole count of the meet, one which featured 117 golfers.

Week of Sept. 9 - 15
Krista Puttkammer, Senior (Tomah), of UW-Platteville
Puttkammer earned a first-place medal at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational last weekend with a two-day score of 171 to lead the Pioneers to a third-place finish. She fired an 82 on the second day to earn medalist honors.

Week of Sept. 2 - 8
Jennifer Prock, Junior (Eau Claire/Memorial), of UW-Eau Claire
Prock took meet medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 157 on rounds of 79 and 78 at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. She finished four strokes ahead of four other golfers. The Blugolds finished second in the 12-team competition, finishing one stroke behind UW-Oshkosh.

Week of Aug. 26 - Sept. 1
Carrie Detjen, Junior (Two Rivers), of UW-Oshkosh
Detjen captured top honors at the UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational at Mill Run Golf Course in Eau Claire on Saturday and Sunday. She shot an 86 on the first day of competition and returned on Sunday and scored an 81 to overcome a five-stroke deficit. Detjen tied Platteville’s Krista Puttkammer and Whitewater’s Lisa Irons for meet medalist honors, but Detjen won the tie-breaker based on the final nine-hole totals for the three individuals.
