Two Blugolds Receive Football Honor Society Recognition
Dallas, Texas--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire football players Tony Hull (Sr.-Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) and Marc Davis (Sr.-Duluth, Minn./Marshall) have been named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s (NFF) 2008 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF recently announced.
The honor society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA or better. A total of 439 players from 226 schools qualified for membership in the society’s second year, an increase of more than 25 percent from the inaugural class in 2007.
Hull, a wide receiver, was named the team’s Offensive MVP and received All-WIAC first team honors as an all-purpose player. He was recognized as one of 153 semifinalists for the 2007 Draddy Trophy and a candidate for the National NFF 2007 National Scholar-Athlete Awards. Hull started 11 games this season, 10 at wide receiver and one at quarterback. He led the team with 40 catches for 628 yards (15.7 yards per catch) and had four touchdowns. Hull also added 850 all-purpose yards and completed his career fifth on the school’s all-time receiving list with 2,066 yards.
Davis, an offensive lineman for the Blugolds, started all 12 games this season and was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
