UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater Receive NCAA Football Bids

Madison, Wis.--For the second straight season, two teams will represent the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
UW-Eau Claire (8-2) earned one of seven at-large bids into the 32-team field and will travel to St. Norbert College (10-0) for a first round matchup.
UW-Whitewater (9-1) secured the conference’s automatic bid into the tournament by winning the WIAC championship for the third straight season. The Warhawks will host Capital University (Ohio) (8-2) in a first round contest.
Both first round meetings will be played on Nov. 17 at noon.
UW-Eau Claire is making the second NCAA appearance in program history. The Blugolds participated in the 1998 event and reached the national semifinals.
UW-Whitewater is appearing in the NCAA championship for the sixth time in school history and has advanced to the national title game the last two seasons.
UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater represented the WIAC in the NCAA football playoffs a year ago.
