Three Claim D3football.com All-America First Team Honors;
UW-Whitewater’s Beaver and Leipold Earn Top Awards
Madison, Wis.--Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2007 D3football.com All-America First Team. UW-Whitewater’s Justin Beaver (Sr., RB), Ryan Ogrizovich (Sr., DL) and Jeff Schebler (So., K) received first team laurels. Beaver was also named the Offensive Player of the Year and Warhawk head coach Lance Leipold earned Coach of the Year honors.
Individuals claiming second team honors included: UW-Oshkosh’s Andy Moriarty (Sr., RB), along with UW-Whitewater’s Brent Allen (Sr., C), Ben Farley (Sr., DB) and A.J. Raebel (Sr., LB).
UW-Eau Claire’s Dave Wicklund (Sr., DB) was a third team selection, while UW-La Crosse’s Randy Gyllin (Sr., OL) received honorable mention.
Beaver secured first team accolades for the third consecutive season, while Schebler was a second team choice a year ago.
