UW-Stevens Point’s Coe Claims NCBWA Midwest Region Player of the Year Honor

Madison, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Doug Coe has been named the 2008 NCAA Division III Midwest Region Position Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

A senior catcher from Appleton, Wis. (North H.S.), Coe was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Position Player of the Year after leading the league with a .438 batting average, 59 RBI, a .542 on-base percentage and a .810 slugging percentage.  He ranked second with 15 home runs, third with 51 runs scored, fourth with 67 hits and eighth with 12 doubles.
