After many discussions, research, consultations with campus Provosts and Chancellors, and with the support of the UW System President, five UW campuses elected to participate in the first year of a broad-based campus climate assessment led by the national research team of Rankin & Associates (R&A).
This campus climate assessment will begin in September 2007 and run through August 2008, and will include the following campuses: the UW Colleges, UW-La Crosse, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Stevens Point. The survey will be distributed via internet and/or paper to ALL students, staff, and faculty on these campuses. It will measure climate via perceptions and experiences of campus community members. The survey template will be developed in collaboration with members of a systemwide Climate Working Group, a committee that will include representatives from campuses and UWSA. Each campus will have the opportunity to contextualize the template to address the needs and concerns of the campus. The survey will be created during the fall semester and administered during the spring semester, with data analysis and institutional reports produced by Fall 2008.
