New China Visa Requirements Effective On August 1, 2012

 On August 1, 2012, the Embassy of China will require additional information for tourist and business visa applications.  The changes are outlined below:

* Business Invitation Letter

To fulfill this requirement, the business invitation letter must:

•           Be issued by an authorized Chinese agency or

•           Be issued by a local Chinese government, company, corporation or institution

Tourist Invitations

To fulfill this requirement, you must submit one of the following: 

•           A copy of your round trip airline ticket and hotel reservation

•           A copy of your computer generated tour itinerary with your personal information

•           *An invitation letter issued by a company, corporation, institution, or an individual from China.  If the invitation letter is issued by an individual in China a photocopy of the individual's ID is required

* The Embassy of China now mandates that an invitation letter accompany Visa applications at all U.S. locations—this requirement is in place for both business travelers and tourists.
