This
page links to functions and information used by staff who do
TIS reporting, submissions, and maintenance.
TIS
Submissions provides information on the submission schedule
for TIS course and equivalency files and submission file procedures.
Web-Based
Telnet uses Telnet software at
the TIS server.
- Using
Telnet software, you can obtain information about several
courses or transfer institutions in a single request and
create reports of this information. Telnet is also used
to perform TIS updates. However, Telnet is more difficult
to use because: (1) it uses older technology and (2) the
mouse does not work in telnet.
- You
need a minimum of Netscape 4.08 or Internet Explorer 4.0
and need to have Java Enabled to use this Web version of
Telnet.
- If
a security window appears, you need to trust the OpenConnect
applet.
- When
using Internet Explorer - If you cannot enter your
login ID at the TIS telnet window, click anywhere outside
that window and then click back on the TIS telnet window.
You should be able to enter your login id and password.
If you continue to experience problems logging in, please
contact the UWSA help desk at 608-262-7653 or email TIS.
- If
you are having other problems, here's
additional information.
- Reports
may be sent to an e-mail account or the TIS FTP server,
but the local printer option is not available in this telnet
version.
TIS
Maintenance Manual allows you to view and/or print specified
sections of the TIS Maintenance Manual.
The Miler Team has developed interface programs to extract course and transfer course equivalency information from PeopleSoft into the format used for TIS batch course and equivalency submissions.
TIS
Systemwide Footnotes provides a listing of the Footnote
Text Records that are common to UW Institutions and WTCS Districts.
