Browser information collected on the website

UWSA maintains server log information of all access to its site and also monitors network traffic for the purposes of site management and security. We use this information to help diagnose problems with the server and to carry out other administrative tasks. We use log analysis tools to create summary statistics to determine which information is of most interest to users, to identify system problem areas, or to help determine technical requirements. The server log information does not include personal information.

Definitions

Server Log Information

The following information is collected from server logs:

Hostname: The hostname, site name, username, and IP address of the computer requesting access to the site

Full request: The exact request the user made
Status: The status code the server returned, e.g., file not found
Content length: The size, in bytes, of the document sent to the user

Universal Resource Identifier (URI): The location of a resource on a server (more commonly known as the URL)
Query string of the URI: Anything after the question mark in a URI
Protocol: The transport protocol and version used
