Safety & Loss Prevention
Overview: Environmental Management
The Office of Safety and Loss Prevention (OSLP) provides environmental management services to University of Wisconsin System campuses. The services typically provided by OSLP are in areas in which:
- consolidated service best serves the interest of UW System campuses; or
- for most campuses, the environmental, health and safety (EH&S) professional does not have the time or resources to efficiently obtain needed regulatory or best practice advice; or
- multiple campuses have the same or similar environmental service need that can be more efficiently met by OSLP; or
- OSLP is best positioned to fulfill a legislative or executive directive.
The environmental management needs for UW System campuses often differ greatly from those of business and other government agencies. OSLP assists campus professionals with assistance that is specific to the operation of our higher education institutions.
