Spring Conference Follow-Up Action Plan

OPID will provide grant funds of up to $1,000.00 to support a meeting or event that will serve to help UW Institutions to disseminate lessons learned from OPID’s Spring 2007 Conference: Partnering for Student Success in the First Year: Learning about Learning. The goal of these grants is to give you the opportunity to share what you have learned at the conference, to promote ideas for collaborative projects, to provide information across campus regarding your first-year programming, or to bring in a related guest speaker.  Another possible outcome is that this event will assist the institution in applying for an Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Grant for 2007-2008.

2007-08 Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Grant (UTLG)

The Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Grant program for 2007-2008 will be used as follow-up opportunities to OPID’s Spring 2007 Conference: Partnering for Student Success in the First Year: Learning about Learning. These collaborative grants are intended to be used to support systematic inquiry into student learning in the first year of college. They may be used as seed money for a new idea or project, or as a way to supplement research into an existing program or initiative for first-year students. We are looking for new and exciting ideas that will lead to a better understanding of how faculty, staff, departments, and institutions can support first-year students by collecting and responding to evidence on student learning.
