2007-08 Wisconsin Teaching Fellows/Scholars
“Going Public Day”
The final meeting of the 2007-08 Wisconsin Teaching Fellows/Scholars Program is April 17th, 2008 at UW-Milwaukee. It includes a brief presentation to the group of each Fellow's and Scholar's scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) project, followed by a poster session as part of the reception and opening activities of this year's "Symposium on Cultural Diversity in the Curriculum: Sharing Ideas and Best Practices Across the UW System," a collaborative event conducted by the UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity (IRE) in conjunction with the UW System Office of Instructional and Professional Development (OPID).The final presentations and poster session are based on a gallery of online posters of the 2007-08 WTF and WTS projects. The Carnegie Foundation's KEEP Toolkit provides the technology for these posters, which are called "snapshots." Throughout the year, the Fellows and Scholars record in these snapshots the progress of their projects. During the program year, they use the snapshots for the program's peer review activities, and at this final meeting of the program the snapshots (and thus their projects) are made public. The snapshots are essential to two key features of SoTL: peer review and going public.
