Yufeng Duan is a research analyst in the Office of Policy Analysis and Research at the University of Wisconsin System. She works on various areas: (1) transfer student reporting, (2) major/degree table management and program array analysis, and (3) faculty workload and cost analysis.
Prior to joining the UW System in April 2005, Yufeng was an institutional analyst in the Office of Institutional Studies at Athabasca University (AU) in Alberta, Canada. At AU, she worked on survey research projects and reports, government reporting, and statistical analysis on student, curricular, and program data. Through her work at both the institutional and system levels, Yufeng has developed a breadth and depth of knowledge in institutional research and policy aspects of higher education.Yufeng graduated from the University of Alberta in Canada, in 1999, with a MS in applied economics. She enjoys applying the quantitative skills that she acquired in her study of econometrics to institutional research and has developed regression models to analyze anomalies in faculty salaries and factors affecting time-to-degree completion . She also enjoys working on project teams in which team members come from different backgrounds and perspectives and believes that teamwork pays off.
