UW-Madison Strategic Plan for Information Technology

Where We Are in the Process

Few of the 37 Charters can be addressed simultaneously. Priorities need to be set, based on agreed-upon criteria. In October the ten campus work team co-leads gave feedback on their charter initiatives based on:

  • is it among the priorities noted in the Campus Strategic Framework?
  • is the work ready to begin?
  • what are the benefits and impact?
  • how many resources (people and funding) are needed to begin?
  • how much collaboration and how many steps are needed to begin?

From this review, the charter initiatives are being organized for the next step in the IT Strategic Planning process.

Contact the CIO office if you would like assist any of the teams.

The IT Strategic Plan, called A Roadmap to Service Excellence - The UW-Madison Information Technology (IT) Strategic Plan, presents a shared campus vision for achieving and sustaining excellence in IT service for higher education. Although this is an IT Strategic Plan, its focus is not on technology, but rather on how technology-based services can support our campus mission and college and department priorities.
