The University of Wisconsin System offers group health, dental, vision and long-term care insurance options to help fit the individual needs of its employees and the employee’s family. You decide which plans are best for you and your family.
The UW provides comprehensive health insurance throughout Wisconsin to employees and their families. Health plans offered include Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs). One plan has a nation-wide network of preferred providers if you need coverage outside of Wisconsin.
Dental Wisconsin Insurance is a stand-alone dental insurance plan that offers comprehensive dental coverage. There are two benefit plans from which to choose: the PPO and the Select Plan (you may enroll in either the PPO or the Select Plan – not both).
EPIC Benefits+ Insurance offers supplemental dental and vision coverage, as well as a hospital/surgery benefit and an accidental death and dismemberment benefit.
VSP Vision Insurance provides coverage for annual eye exams, frames, lenses and contact lenses. VSP also provides discounted refractive eye surgery at select locations.
Long-term care insurance covers services that are typically not covered by health insurance, such as assistance with activities of daily living (e.g. walking, eating, bathing). This plan provides financial protection from the rising costs of long-term care. Coverage for care in non-institutional settings, such as assisted living, adult day care, and in-home care, is also available.
