Vision Statement

To transform the University of Wisconsin System into a higher educational community that represents, reflects, respects and values diverse persons, voices and perspectives of Wisconsin.

Mission Statement

The Office of Academic Diversity and Development (OADD) has a two-fold mission; first to enhance race/ethnic diversity policy and practice within and across the UW System; and second to cultivate external funding sources of identified priority areas of Academic Affairs and the campuses.

OADD will provide leadership to all UW system institutions in creating and maintaining policies and procedures that will help achieve the goals and initiatives of Plan 2008: Educational Quality Through Racial and Ethnic Diversity and other related race/ethnic diversity UW System plans and activities. OADD will also enhance the visibility of UW System campuses and UW System Office of the President to obtain external funding (federal, corporate, foundation, and individuals). To that end, OADD will: host visits to UW System for representatives of funding sources, identify funding sources that match Academic Affairs' needs, and work collaboratively with UW System campuses and UW System Administration to submit funding proposals.
