Fellows, Employees-in-training, and Similar Titles
Members of this group are graduate and post-graduate appointees who work independently or with minimal supervision as a part of professional training. You receive a stipend or award rather than a salary. Your stipend may be subject to income taxes. Though you are technically not a UW employee, you may be eligible for some benefits.
To be eligible for benefits, you must must be appointed for at least one semester (6 months for year-round positions), and for at least 33% of full-time. Eligible job titles include: Research Assistant, Fellow, Advanced Opportunity Fellow, Scholar, Trainee, Post Doctoral Fellow, Scholar, or Trainee; and Graduate Intern/Trainee.
