Faculty Sabbatical

The faculty sabbatical program was established under § 36.11 (17), Wis. Stats., to enable instructional faculty to engage in intensive study so that they can become more effective teachers and scholars and enhance their service to the University.

In order to qualify, a faculty member must have completed six or more years of full-time instructional service, or its equivalent, in the UW System and not have taken a sabbatical with the UW System during the previous six years of full-time service.

The provisions of the faculty sabbatical program may vary from campus to campus. The Academic Planning Statement #3.3 provides some guidelines. If you are interested in this program, please contact your academic personnel office.
