Employee Benefits

Worker's Compensation

The Worker’s Compensation Act provides medical expenses and disability benefits when an employee is injured while in the course of employment, and the injury or illness arises out of the employment.

Worker's Compensation is self-insured by the State of Wisconsin.  UW System Administration, Office of Safety and Loss Prevention, www.uwsa.edu/oslp/wc/ administers the program for UW employees.

Notify your supervisor if you have been injured. Claims are filed through your individual UW institution. Here is the list of UW Institution benefits contacts.

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development www.dwd.state.wi.us/wc/ provides helpful online resources.
