    NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Employees involuntarily terminated from employment between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009, may be eligible for COBRA premium assistance. Involuntarily terminated employees and their dependents may be eligible to receive up to a 65% premium reduction for nine months on any benefits continued after termination.   • Updated information is now available regarding the impact that the 2008 WRS investment losses may have on WRS benefits. There is also an updated Q&A Guide for employees who want to retire in 2009 or 2010.

  • Updated layoff information now online. Two benefit summaries are now available that outline how an employee's benefits are affected by layoff.

  • New FMLA regulations now in effect. Review the summary of changes and new forms requirements.

  • Total Compensation Estimator now available online. This tool can be used by potential and current employees to help evaluate a job offer. A cost of living comparison tool is also available as part of the estimator.

  • Retirement Savings Options Available to UW System Employees summary guide now available online.
