Youth Apprenticeship Grants
Full Description
Increases funding for local youth
apprenticeship grants. The grants would be targeted to health care and health
care technology training.
Referred to: Workforce Development
UW System Position
SUPPORT: The State of Wisconsin, like the rest of the nation, must increase the number and diversity of individuals choosing health care occupations to meet future health care industry workforce needs. Youth apprenticeship programs are valuable in that they promote awareness of health care careers in the K-12 education system and provide young people with the skills to enter the health care arena early. Ultimately, these students will be poised to use that experience as a base for studies at a college or university and for career advancement opportunities within the health care industry.
