Christopher L. Ashley
Christopher L. Ashley joined the University of Wisconsin System Administration (UWSA) in October 1999, and is currently Deputy General Counsel. Before joining UWSA, Chris was in private practice from 1991 to 1995. Chris also spent almost five years as Assistant General Counsel for the National Science Foundation, and he has worked on legal ethics matters as a staff attorney in the White House Counsel’s office. Chris received his B.A. degree in economics from Swarthmore College in 1986, and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1991. Chris is a member of the Wisconsin, Maryland, and District of Columbia bars. Chris teaches graduate-level courses in higher education law and privacy law.
