Rita Richardson joined the UW System’s Office of General Counsel in 2003. Before joining the UW System, she worked almost 16 years as the office manager for the State of Wisconsin Personnel Commission, a state agency that handled employment law cases. Prior to that, she worked for four years in program support positions with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, she earned her B.A. degree in 1970. Prior to employment under the Wisconsin civil service system, she taught English and Spanish at the high school level.
