Laura A. Dunek advises the Board of Regents and Board Secretary on issues involving open records and meetings statutes, as well as the management of University records, real estate holdings, and Regent Policy Documents. Ms. Dunek is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she teaches both legal writing to first-year law students and negotiation skills to second- and third-year law students. Finally, Ms. Dunek is a senior lecturer for LAWriters, a consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia that provides training in advanced legal writing to lawyers and judges throughout the country. Ms. Dunek graduated cum laude from Marquette University, where she was awarded a four-year academic scholarship from the Texas Instruments Foundation. While attending the University of Wisconsin Law School, Ms. Dunek graduated in the top third of her law school class, served as the President of the Moot Court Board, and clerked for the Soros Foundation in New York, analyzing the multi-faceted legal issues impacting the developing governments of the Former Soviet Union.
