Chris Ashley was appointed Deputy General Counsel in October 2010, having joined the UWSA as Senior System Legal Counsel in October 1999. Before working at UWSA, he spent almost five years as Assistant General Counsel for the National Science Foundation. He was in private practice in the Labor and Employment section for the Washington D.C. office of Morgan,Lewis & Bockius from 1991 to 1995. He received his B.A. degree in Economics from Swarthmore College in 1986 and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1991. He is a member of the Wisconsin, Maryland, and District of Columbia bars.
