The Vice President for Finance, Deborah A. Durcan,
is responsible for the conduct of all financial affairs
of the University of Wisconsin System (UWS). The
Vice President serves as the chief financial officer
to the Board of Regents, President, System Chancellors
and their staffs in matters of financial policy and
planning and is responsible for providing assurance
of the fiscal integrity of the UWS. The Vice President
serves as Trust Officer of the Board of Regents and
is responsible for the investment policies, practices
and performance of all funds held in trust by the
Board of Regents. This position is an active participant
in annual and biennial budgetary decisions, long
and short-range policy decisions and in the development
and implementation of appropriate UWS and institutional
policies and procedures. The major functions of
Finance include UWS financial planning, financial
control, administrative and Board of Regents' policy
review, safety and loss prevention, procurement,
office services, trust funds investing, and financial
and non-financial data reporting.
