**ONE-DAY RENTALS: A $3 surcharge will apply to the Daily Rate for all one-day rentals commencing on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.
***Under National's "Best Rate" plan, UW employees are often given lower
promotional or special rates. Certain U.S. locations outside of National top 100 airport locations may impose an additional surcharge
not to exceed $6.00 per day. All U.S. locations will apply up to a 20% discount
to the National Business Rate (NBR) for vehicle classes not specified above.
Tour package rates and promotional rates will not receive this discount.
Reservations for rentals in certain U.S. cities during special events, major
holidays, and peak demand periods may require a guarantee.
In the United States, Big 10 eligible renters are entitled to a maximum
discount of up to 10 percent (10%) which will be applied to the daily, weekend,
weekly, monthly and holiday promotional rates as they exist at the time
of reservation. Such promotional rate discounts are not applied to the rates
listed above.
Corporate Daily Rates include unlimited mileage (exception: all van rates include
150 miles/day, 825/week, then $0.30/mile). Corporate Daily Rates apply to rental
transactions originating and terminating within the same rental zone (local
rentals).
The One-Way Daily rates below apply to rental transactions originating and terminating at locations within different rental zones (one-way rentals). No drop charge or per-mile charge will be applied to authorized one-way rentals for car classes ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, and FCAR. The Corporate Daily Rate plus a per-mile charge of $0.30 applies to all miles driven for all one-way rentals of car classes PCAR, LCAR, MVAR, and SFAR.

A debit/check card is considered to be any non-credit card bearing the VISA, MasterCard, or Discover Card logo.
Any other non-credit card without the VISA, MasterCard, or Discover Card logo is not accepted.
Exceptions
Canada and Puerto Rico: In Canada and Puerto Rico, a credit card in the name of the renter must be presented at the time of pickup. Debit/check cards are only accepted for payment at the time of return.

LaGuardia airports between the hours of 1:00 pm Friday through 12:59 pm Sunday,
current published rates less a discount will apply.
Domestic (United States) rentals under the booking code include loss and damage to the vehicle and liability insurance of $100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 bodily injury each accident and $25,000 for property damage, combined single limit, provided the UW ID number is in the reservation and the renter and any additional authorized driver have complied with the terms of the rental agreement. Rentals in MOST foreign countries include collision protection and theft insurance (where applicable) and the minimum required amount of third-party liability protection as determined by the applicable laws of each country/province. Please note that in the case of loss or damage to the vehicle, some countries will require a deductible be paid, even though collision and theft coverage may be included in the rate. Please confirm, at time of reservation, that the car type and rate selected is a UW contract specified vehicle type and that the rate includes collision and theft protection. Please also inquire at the time of reservation, what, if any, the deductible amount will be and whether or not a product is available to purchase, that will waive the deductible amount.
In those countries that do not include the collision/theft insurance in the rate, Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection should be purchased unless the rental is charged to the US Bank Travel Card which contains that insurance coverage. Please check with National's International Reservation desk at 1-800-CAR-EUROPE to determine if collision and theft insurance is included.
Other optional coverages, such as PEC (Personal Effects Coverage), PAI (Personal
Accident Insurance), SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance), are not
reimbursable expenses and are not included in our contract.

All One-Day Rentals: - A $3.00 surcharge
will be applied to the corporate daily rate for all one-day rentals commencing
on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
Eligible Renters: - Faculty and staff of the UW and Big 10 and
their immediate family (spouse and children living at home) as well as retirees
and their spouses, interview candidates, graduate students**, consultants***,
and contractors****.
**Graduate Student: A student on the University payroll who requires a rental vehicle for University related business and has obtained authorization from a faculty or staff member who is in a supervisory role.
The program is extended to graduate students for business rentals only. Graduate students identified at time of rental will need to provide a letter stating the purpose of the rental is business related. The letter must be on official University stationery and signed by the graduate student's supervisor.
In addition to the individuals defined herein, Eligible Renters will also include consultants*** and contractors**** of member institutions. Consultants*** and contractors**** will be extended all rates and conditions of the Agreement as long as the rental is reimbursed in whole or in part by the University. The traveler will be required to carry a letter from the University identifying him/her as eligible.
Consultants and contractors are defined as follows:
***Consultant: Any individual, including speakers and presenters,who has been retained by member institutions to provide expert or professional service, at the direction of, and for and on behalf of member institutions; whose work during the time of their National car rental is directly related to member institutions; and whose National car rental expenses are reimbursed or otherwise paid for by member institutions.
****Contractor/Independent Contractor: Any individual who has been retained by member institutions to furnish materials or perform services for member institutions at a specified price; whose work during the time of their National car rental is directly related to member institutions; and whose National car rental expenses are reimbursed or otherwise paid for by member institutions.
Eligible renters will provide identification and/or evidence of eligibility at the time of rental if so requested by National.
Authorized Drivers: - A member of the UW employee's immediate
family, 21 years of age or older, who lives with the employee, or a fellow employee.
They do not have to sign the UW employee's rental agreement.
Additional Authorized Drivers: - A person other than an authorized
driver (see definition above) who signs the rental agreement of a UW employee
who rents the vehicle. Additional driver fees ranging from $6.00 to $10.00 per day, dependent on rental location, will be assessed
for each additional authorized driver.
Young Drivers: - No rentals are available for drivers under 21. Effective November 12, 2007, National will no longer charge an additional fee for renters aged 21-24.
Canadian Rates and Discounts: (For business rentals, rates include
loss and damage insurance.)

Terms and Conditions:
- Corporate Daily Rates apply to rental transactions originating and terminating
at the same National Tilden location (local rental).
Business rentals in designated C-1 locations include unlimited kilometers. Monthly rates include 4,000 km only.
Business rentals in designated C-2 locations include a kilometer allowance which ranges from 50 to 200 kilometers, depending upon the location.
All rentals in designated C-4 locations will be assessed a per kilometer charge for all kilometers driven. Kilometers and excess kilometers will be charged at the National Business Rate (DR01).
All authorized one-way rentals will be charged the Corporate Daily Rate with a drop charge and/or kilometer charge which will be applied to all kilometers driven.
- Airport locations, as noted below, will assess an additional fee for each
rental day. Currently these cities include, but are not limited to, the following:
C$10.00 in Wabush - Province of Newfoundland
These cities are subject to change without notice. Any revisions to these city differentials will be made available to the Big Ten upon request.
- Rates are valid at all participating locations in Canada with advanced confirmed
reservations, and are subject to the availability of vehicles. Reservations
for rentals in certain Canadian cities during special events, major holidays,
and peak demand periods may require a guarantee. Tour package rates and seasonal
promotional rates may not receive the terms, conditions or discounts as specified
in this Agreement.
- Weekly rates are calculated at five and one-half times (5.5x) the daily
rate for rentals of twenty-eight through thirty-one consecutive days. The
monthly rates are calculated at twenty-four times (24x) the daily rate.
- Standard driver and credit rental qualifications apply. Minimum rental age
at most locations is twenty-one (21) for commercial travelers renting vehicles
for business purposes. Additional charges of $5.00 per rental day and $35.00
per rental week may apply for drivers under age 25.
- Rates include collision coverage (on business rentals only), but do not
include taxes, governmental or airport fees, or optional charges such as refueling
service charges, Personal Accident Insurance, Personal Effect Coverage, theft
protection or any other optional items or services.
- A C$3.00 surcharge will be applied to the Corporate Daily Rate for all one-day
rentals commencing on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.
- National will reduce all Canada Local Rates by $2.00 per day when a reservation is received by National via National's Internet booking engine (http://www.nationalcar.com).
International discounts are subject to change without notice and may differ wherever local government restrictions limit or prohibit these discounts.
Terms and Conditions:
- International Flat Rates apply for local rentals at National locations.
Generally defined as the return of a rental vehicle to a location within the
same country of rental.
- For local or inter-country one-way rentals in non-standard or non-specified
car groups, a discount of 25% for EMEA, 5% for Japan, and 15% for LAC and
the Pacific Basin will apply to the discountable time and mileage rate.
- International Flat Rates include the minimum required amount of liability
protection as determined by the applicable laws of each country. The rates
also include coverage for damage and/or theft (where applicable). These rates
do not include personal accident insurance.
- All renters and additional authorized drivers must have a valid driver's
license and must meet the driver age and credit requirements of the country
of rental.
- National will reduce contract local rates by $2.00 per day when the reservation is received by National via National's Internet booking engine (http://www.nationalcar.com).
