Statute Language:
Notwithstanding s. 20.920 (1) (b), the Board of Regents may use balances in University of Wisconsin System program revenue operations as contingent funds for the payment of miscellaneous expenses and student financial aid if immediate payment is deemed necessary. Other than payments for student aid, the daily balance of these funds may not exceed $3,000,000 and total disbursements from these funds may not exceed $100,000,000 in any fiscal year.Section 20.920 (1) (b) states:
"Contingent fund" fund means an amount of money set aside for a state agency to use in making small payments.
Authorized Contingent Fund Amounts:
The total contingent fund authorization for the UW System is $3,351,500.
Allowable Major Classes of Expense/Revenue:
No expenses may be coded to this appropriation. Normally, revenue code 9999 is the only code used in this appropriation.
Special Restrictions or Policies/Procedures:
Requests for temporary of permanent increases to an institution's contingent fund must be submitted to and approved by the Office of Financial Administration.
