Statute Language:

The amounts in the schedule for grants to minority and disadvantaged graduate students under s. 36.25 (14).

Section 36.25 (14) states:
The board shall establish a grant program for minority and disadvantaged graduate students enrolled in the system. The grants shall be awarded from the appropriation under s. 20.285 (4) (b). The board shall give preference in awarding grants under this subsection to residents of this state. The board my not make a grant under this subsection to a person if it receives certification under s. 49.855 (7) that the person is delinquent in child support or maintenance payments or owes past support, medical expenses or birth expenses.

All institutions except Extension, UW-Colleges, System Administration, and Systemwide

Aid to individuals and fringe benefits only.

    Not applicable since there are no salaries in this appropriation.

    Use activity 9 only. See Activity Codes and Definitions for descriptions.

Year-End Instructions (lapse, carry forward, etc.):

Any unexpended or unencumbered current year budget dollars must be lapsed back to the state at the end of the year. There is no cash balance to carry forward. The new year budget is increased by encumbrances carried forward to the new year; budgeted and accounted for in appropriation 106. Refunds of prior year expenditures are deposited to appropriation 100 as receipts (9209).

Special Instructions on Salaries/Fringe Benefits:

Budget transfers off the fringe benefits line are not allowed at any time for this appropriation.
