Executive Committee participants: Regent Barry, Regent MacNeil, Regent Marcovich, Regent Orr, Regent Randall, and Regent Smith
Executive Committee members not participating: Regent Brandes
Authorization to recruit: Vice President for University Relations
It was moved by Regent MacNeil, seconded by Regent Smith and carried unanimously that the following resolution be adopted.
Authorization to Recruit: Vice President for
University Relations
Resolution 7973: That, upon the recommendation of the President of the University of Wisconsin System, the President be authorized to recruit for a Vice President for University Relations, at a salary that may exceed the Executive Salary Group Six maximum.
Executive session
At 9:05 a.m., the following resolution, moved by Regent Smith, was adopted by a unanimous roll-call vote, with Regent Barry, Regent MacNeil, Regent Marcovich, Regent Randall, Regent Smith, and Regent Orr (6) voting in the affirmative. There were no dissenting votes.
Resolution 7974: That, the Executive Committee recess into closed session, to consider appointments at salaries above group six, executive pay plan, as permitted by s.19.85(1)(c), Wis. Stats.
The Committee arose from closed session at 9:10 a.m., having adopted the following resolutions:
UW-Madison:
Authorization to Appoint: Director, University Research Park
Resolution 7975: That, upon recommendation of the Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the President of the University of Wisconsin System, the Chancellor be authorized to appoint Mark Bugher as Director, University Research Park, effective October 1, 1999, at a salary of $A135,000.
Authorization to appoint Dean, College of Engineering, UW-Madison
UW-Madison:
Authorization to Appoint: Dean, College of Engineering
Resolution 7976: That, upon recommendation of the Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the President of the University of Wisconsin System, the Chancellor be authorized to appoint Dr. Paul Peercy as Dean, College of Engineering, effective September 1, 1999, at a salary of $A185,000.
