Biography
Stan Davis is a partner and co-chair of the Government Relations Focus Group at Axley Brynelson, LLP in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to attending law school, Stan graduated from UW-La Crosse, taught high school in Minneapolis, Minn., and worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of U.S. Rep. Bruce Vento (MN) and U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone (MN). After his graduation from George Washington University Law School in 1998, Stan served as an Assistant Attorney General in the civil litigation unit of the Wisconsin Department of Justice. In 2003, Stan was appointed to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Jim Doyle. In that capacity, he served as chief legal advisor to the Governor, as the Governor’s liaison to the Wisconsin Court System, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and the Department of Military Affairs. He also directed the Governor’s Homeland Security Council and Judicial Appointments Commission. Stan serves as the president of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. He also currently serves on the Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation Board, Wisconsin Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund Board, and the UW-La Crosse Foundation Board. Stan and his daughters live in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
